For a second, Luka froze. Branches had ripped her clothing to shreds, and her exposed body was full of scratches and marks. Her chest heaved wildly.

For some reason, what the blue man had said sparked something within her mind, like a long-forgotten dream. However, the moment was fleeting, and Luka soon regretted thinking about it. Gritting her teeth, she continued to run. She ran, and ran until the mop of blue hair was out of sight. The forest canopy shrouded the sun, and the floor was as dark as night in this part of the woods. Luka slowed to a walk, coughing and sweating. She flipped her silky hair out of her face and sat down on a mossy rock to rest.

They're going to kill you, Luka. Just like Master, just like Master~ her thoughts taunted tantalizingly.

Well, I've surely lost him by now... Luka thought, smirking. He won't catch me so easily!

Suddenly, from the underbrush, a low growl was heard. Luka froze and took stock of her surroundings.

The growling sound moved closer, and Luka simply shut her eyes.
