Kaito got up, recovering from the fall, but by the time he got up, the wondrous streak of pink hair was long gone.
"Luka-san...why? What has gotten into you?" He brushed himself off, and continued walking; he needed to find Luka fast, as the surroundings were unfamiliar, and getting lost without someone nearby for help would be potentially disasterous.
"Luka-san! Luka-san!" he called out as he walked to conserve energy. The forest scene started becoming darker, more menacing, but he needed to press on.
He continued calling for Luka, but his voice was starting to become weary. "Lu...ka...san" his voice

He heard a growl and ran towards it. Nearby, sitting on a mossy rock, was Luka. And the growl was coming from something lurking in the shadows.
He grabbed a sturdy branch nearby and ran towards Luka. "Gladiolus!" The growling shadow leapt at Luka, but Kaito swung the branch, hitting down on the shadow as hard as he could.
"Get...away...from Luka-san..." he said in his lower octave voice, panting.
The shadow yelped as it fled back into the trees.
He turned around to face Luka, threw the branch away, and walked towards her.
A sudden sharp pain ripped through his chest.
"Guh!" was all he could mutter. He collapsed right in front of Luka; her eyes were the last thing he saw before blacking out.
